We invite submissions that delve into the theme of the UNSPOKEN. Whether confronting the taboo of death, navigating social stigmas, starting difficult conversations, deciphering non-verbal dialogues, or weaving through the nuances of multilingual communication, we seek pieces illuminating the unsaid aspects of our shared human experience.

This poetry book is a gift from Virginia Gillard, opening our eyes and hearts to her personal relationship with language, and just as with Finnska Fríða, we hope that this book will “move margins”. Ós Pressan has been there to support authors from the margins, and to publish and support a poet with aphasia is exactly that. Virginia’s work is deep, vulnerable, fragile, and tender but also heart-warming, empowering, and playful!

“I wrote it firstly, for the child that I once was, I felt that my inner child deserved this message, and secondly for the children who enjoy solitude to know that it is OK, to know that it is allowed, to know that moments of solitude are good and meaningful and lastly, for those who find it difficult to understand why we like to be alone, to also see our point of view and to empathize more with us. Perhaps even for them to not be afraid of being alone and seeing the beauty in solitude.”
